  • Structure & geophysicsIntegrating structure from DEM and Sentinel-1 with gravity and geomagnetic anomalies (Python).
  • Priority exploration zonesSpectral anomalies as targets for field validation — not direct detection of mineral content.
Service 05

Petrographic & Mineragraphic Analysis

Microscope study of thin and polished sections to identify minerals, textures, alteration and ore minerals — the basis for reading the geology and pinpointing mineralised zones.

  • Thin-section petrographyMineral composition, texture, microstructure and rock classification from thin sections.
  • Petrogenesis & alterationHow the rock formed, and the type and intensity of hydrothermal alteration.
  • Polished-section mineragraphyOpaque ore minerals — metal sulphides and oxides — under reflected light.
  • Mineral paragenesisReplacement textures and the order minerals formed in, to judge a deposit’s potential.

Sample Results: PCA & GEE Desk Study

PCA is a method for identifying spectral anomalies, not for detecting mineral content directly. Interpreting it requires eigenvector analysis, spectral characterisation and field validation.

Full Description: Petrography & Mineragraphy

A. Petrographic Analysis

Petrographic analysis is carried out by microscope study of thin sections of rock to identify mineral composition, textural characteristics, microstructures and the relationships between the minerals that make up the rock. It aims to determine rock type and classification, interpret how the rock formed (petrogenesis), and identify the character and intensity of hydrothermal alteration. Its results are an essential basis for interpreting geological conditions, characterising lithology and identifying mineralised zones in mining exploration.

B. Mineragraphic Analysis

Mineragraphic analysis is carried out by reflected-light microscope study of polished sections to identify ore minerals, particularly opaque minerals such as metal sulphides and oxides. It covers the type of ore mineral, mineralisation textures, the relationships between minerals, and how minerals grew and replaced one another (replacement textures). It also supports the interpretation of mineral paragenesis — the order of formation and the timing relationships between minerals in a mineralising system. This information is key to understanding the character of a mineral deposit, how the ore formed, and evaluating the potential of an economic mineral deposit.

Integrated Methodology

A nickel-laterite profile has a fixed order: forest canopy, topsoil, limonite, saprolite, bedrock. Our method follows that order — each stage narrows the target for the next, so far fewer drill holes actually need to be drilled.

Core competencies

  • Field operations — leading up to 12 Jacro series rigs with their drillers, mechanics, geologists, QC staff and crew; controlling productivity, downtime and fuel consumption.
  • Geological data — validating logging and sampling, CRM/standard, blank and duplicate control, modelling nickel-laterite grade distribution, and rig movement maps.
  • K3 (safety) — working directly with the project owner's HSE team so that work follows SOPs and regulations.

  • Database & wellsite geologist — nickel-laterite projects in Central and Southeast Sulawesi, including PT Mineral Bumi Nusantara, PT Bara Prima Gemilang and PT Lawaki Tiar Raya.

Professional value

Drawing on her experience, education and certifications, these are the main ways Indri Damayanti keeps an exploration project running smoothly and on course to succeed.

Field efficiency & productivity (operational excellence)

  • Rig fleet & resource management — has coordinated up to 12 Jacro series rigs with their full field crews (drillers, mechanics, geologists, QC, crew).
  • Downtime mitigation — analyses and resolves low productivity, downtime, equipment breakdowns and technical obstacles in the field so that daily, weekly and monthly drilling metre targets are still met.
  • Accident risk mitigation — applies K3 (occupational safety) standards and works directly with the company or project owner's HSE team, keeping the project within government regulations, safe for workers and clear of stop work orders caused by safety violations.

Geological data quality (data integrity & QA/QC)

  • Accurate exploration data — long experience as a database geologist and wellsite geologist; keeps tight control of depth data, recovery, sampling intervals and the match of laboratory samples (CRM/standards, blanks and duplicates).
  • A sound basis for investment decisions — clean, verified geological data prevents errors in laterite nickel resource and reserve estimates, which matters greatly to prospective partners and investors.

For prospective partners. Having Indri Damayanti on a project not only means exploration runs on time and on budget, it also means the geological data produced is highly valid and meets formal safety standards.
